Jason Garmany

What is your nickname? If you have one?

Where do you primarily ride?
I mostly find myself ripping between Timberline and Skibowl.

What made you start snowboarding?
I found my way into riding when I got my very first board for Christmas at the age of 13. I quickly fell in love with the sport first day I took it out.

What’s your favorite board to ride?
My favorite board to ride currently is the Salomon Villain.

Favorite riding story if you have one?
One of my favorite days on the board was a solo trip to Mt. Bachelor in February of 2019. It was the best pow day I’ve ever had.

Why do you love to snowboard?
I can’t explain exactly why I love snowboarding. When I strap in, I just feel an overwhelming sense of joy and freedom.

When you aren’t snowboarding what are you most likely finding yourself getting into?
When I’m not on hill I typically find myself either out hiking, on a mountain bike, skydiving, or cliff jumping.

What is your favorite area on the mountain? Jumps, rails, natural terrain?
You’ll mostly find me in the parks; however, on a powder day you won’t find me because I’m in the trees and dropping off cliffs.

Where do you see yourself in five years snowboarding wise?  Traveling to another country?
In five years, I see myself traveling more in search for the steepest lines and the deepest powder across the United States and, hopefully one day, Europe.

Do you have a pre-boarding ritual or something you need to have on you at all times on the mountain?
I don’t have any pre-boarding rituals; however, I do try my  best to stretch as much as I can before I lace up.
